First Aid for fainting

Cold perspiration and pallor are indications of fainting. Fainting is caused by insufficient blood circulation to the brain and it is temporary.

The patient should be left lying flat. To force a fainted person to sit or stand can prove fatal due to lack of oxygen to the brain. To restore circulation, the unconscious person's feet should be elevated or the head lowered below the level of the heart. The victim must be kept from becoming chilled. 0n revival, the victim may be given tea.
