9 Early pregnancy signs and symptoms

Early Pregnancy can be easily detected with tests and ultrasounds but there are certain signs and symptoms that could possibly show you that, you are pregnant.

A missed period is not the only early sign of pregnancy. Fatigue, morning sickness, smell sensitivity and mood swings are all some of the early signs and symptoms of pregnancy.

The following are certain detailed and explained early signs and symptoms of pregnancy:

1. Missed period
Period is normally missed during the early stages of a pregnancy because when implantation is complete, human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is released by the body in order to keep the pregnancy in good shape. This hormones are the reason why the ovaries stops producing eggs.

2. Fatigue
Fatigue is one of the early signs of pregnancy. You would feel so sleepy to the extent that, you have to sleep heavily sometimes just to feel somehow okay. This is as a result of the increase in progesterone levels.

3. Increase in heart rate
In the 8th to 10th week of the pregnancy, your will tend to race very fast. Palpitations and arrhythmias tend to accompany pregnancies due to the hormones being produced.

4. Changes in the breast
Within the fourth and the seventh week, changes occur to the breast. The breast becomes somehow swollen because of the hormonal changes.

5. Mood swings
The increase in progesterone and estrogen levels during pregnancy can make the individual become very emotional than they used to be. This could lead to anxiety, depression and any other mixed feelings.

6. Frequent urination
Blood flow in the body increases during pregnancy. This forces the kidneys to deal with more fluids which ends up in the bladder as urine. This makes the individual to visit the bathroom more often just to urinate.

7. Morning sickness and nausea
In the forth to the fifth week of pregnancy, the individual will begin to experience morning sickness and nausea. The name 'morning sickness' does not restrict it from occurring anytime in the day or night.
8. Smell sensitivity and food aversions
Most pregnant women report that they normally becomes nauseous and feel like vomiting when they smell the scent of certain substances and the aroma of food.

9. Pregnancy glow and acne
During the early stages of pregnancy, the individual's skin becomes very glossy and flushed due to the increase in hormonal levels that aids the oil glands to produce excessive body oil. 
The increase in body oil production can also bring about acne.
