It's official: Apple's AirPower wireless charging mat is dead.

Apple has officially cancelled its AirPower wireless charger that was announced on September 2017 together with the iPhone 8 and the iPhone X.

According to Dan Riccio, the Senior Vice President of Apple's hardware engineering, the AirPower would not achieve its high standards so they decided to terminate the project.
He also in the process of his speech, extended his apologies to the customers who really have been looking forward to its launch.

Even though the AirPower has been cancelled due to some reasons, Dan Riccio on behalf of Apple believes the future is wireless and Apple as a successful giant tech company will continue to push until it is achieved

The AirPower would have allowed users to wirelessly charge their iPhones, AirPods and their Apple Watches at the same time.

According to several experts, the AirPower was cancelled due to how multiple wireless charging coils inside it may not permit it to work efficiently hence result in overheating during charging.
