The launch of Kim Kardashian West's brand of figure-hugging underwear named Kimono, has sparked anger among several Japanese.

Kim Kardashian West has been accused of cultural appropriation after launching the brand of figure-hugging underwear called Kimono.

Kim, a reality TV star, took to social media to express how happy she is after launching her new line of shapewear and how she has been passionate about it for about 15 years.

Included in the Kim's new collection are one-piece bodies, high-waisted underwear, bras and a pair of one-legged shorts.

Kardashian apparently has trademarked the word 'kimono' and it seem to have angered many including Japanese.

Critics say trademarking the name ''kimono'' for such a collection is disrespectful because kimonos are truly important to the Japanese culture.
