Visa slashed from $150 to $75 by the government of Ghana

The government of Ghana has just announced that the cost of a visa on arrival has been reduced from  $150 to $75 as part of the ongoing ‘Year of Return’ programme.
The ‘Year of Return’ programme was launched to bring back home Ghanaian and African diaspora. It is also to encourage individuals of African descent who are outside the continent to come back home.

Furthermore, it is to mark 400 years since the first slaves from Africa landed in Jamestown Virginia during the trans-Atlantic slave trade.

Famous celebrity diasporans of Ghanaian decent such as Idris Elba, Boris Codjoe and the WWE superstar, Kofi Kingston.

Michael Jai White who is an African-American actor has also visited and was even enstooled chief at Akwamufie in the Eastern region of Ghana.
