You can now unlock your WhatsApp with fingerprint on Androids

An upgrade in WhatsApp for Android security has been announced by the social media company. The upgrade, according to WhatsApp, includes a fingerprint unlock feature which has already been introduced to devices running on iOS earlier this year (2019).

After turning the feature on, you can choose to set it up to automatically lock immediately or after 1 minute or 30 minutes when not in use.

It seems Android devices are lagging behind in terms of WhatsApp biometric security as compared to iOS devices because WhatsApps of iOS devices have both the fingerprint and face ID unlock features but that of android devices has only the fingerprint unlock feature.
